‘POP’ goes the…

This week brought a ‘new’ concept – for me anyway! ‘Pop-up’, was first mentioned to me in the form of a restaurant. WOW, where have I been, and more importantly why am I not being invited to this ‘invitation’ food extravaganza?! ‘Pop up’ events/retail are quite the trend. trendwatching.com  has an article from 2004 heralding the yet another, albeit slight, social trend change. Well, clearly I live in my own bubble since its 2012 – but I was most happy to experience this ‘new – old trend’ on the weekend with Mr B.

The fabulous E for Ethel  hosted a ‘pop-up’ retail event.

This pop-up combined the businesses of ‘Little Luv’  http://www.facebook.com/pages/little-luv/203058625919 & ‘Trovare’ http://www.facebook.com/trovarewares?ref=ts   These two little Adelaide based, online vintage businesses strutted out their best wares on, what turned out to be, a wintry of winter day in every sense of the word!! The weather did not deter this ‘pop up’ nor dampen spirits! The setting, directly out the front of E for Ethel, was welcoming with fabulous display racks of vintage coats & jackets, lined alongside with some groovy vintage boots – just in case you may have forgotten how freezing it was & needed to re-dress! Gorgeous displays of vintage goodies flourished all over the ‘pop-up’ area, everything from suitcase to apothecary jars and all fabulously displayed and dressed  with interspersed camellias straight from nanna’s garden! I couldn’t resist but snappity snap – just a few.

A showcase of wares from 'Little Luv' & 'Trovare'.

Although I didn’t make a purchase this time, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing what these wonderful, inventive business do. The attention to the detail of their displays & hand picked wares was admirable – simplicity, with a great eye – something April ALWAYS loves! I’ll be keeping their Facebook page handy to check out their fabulous goodies and to keep posted on their next great ‘pop-up’ – no matter where you are, I hope you’ll join me!

Love, Love
April xx

Vitnage chic - at its finest!
